| At Jinja, The River Nile starts its 4000-mile journey from Lake Victoria, through Sudan and the Pyramids of Egypt, to the Mediterranean Sea. See the source of the Nile (at the now submerged Rippon Falls) and the surrounding environs of Jinja town. At Jinja, you have the choice of additional activities including white water rafting, flat water canoeing, river boarding, kayaking, bungee jumping and quad biking. | An hour's journey by speedboat from Kampala, Ngamba is a densely forested 40 hectare island, situated on the equator in Lake Victoria, 23 kilometers from Entebbe. The island provides a safe, nearly natural environment for chimps rescued from captivity. Chimps are the closest animals to man, with whom they share more than 98.6% of their genes. A raised viewing platform along the edge of the Sanctuary gives you a chance to observe and photograph the primates in their natural environment from only a few metres away. Other animals you may see from Ngamba include hippos and otters – as well as over 120 bird species. Traditional fishermen are a picturesque part of lake life. Overnight stay at Ngamba can be arranged in a luxury tented camp, offering more time for chimpanzee viewing. | Entebbe is located 34 kms from Kampala. The tour offers a panoramic tour of Entebbe town and a visit to the Entebbe Botanical Garden. The beautifully landscaped 40-hectare Entebbe Botanical Garden, established in 1901, is situated on a 1.5 kilometre long shoreline of the great Lake Victoria, 5 minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport,. Located on the equator, it is a wonderful place to spend a few hours among the tropical and sub-tropical plants and a colourful collection of birds, including the orange tufted and red-chested sunbirds, long-tailed cormorant and black-headed herons.
