Mfangano Island Camp
Lapped by the waters of Lake Victoria shaded by giant fig trees, Mfangano Island Camp is an oasis of tranquility. The Camp has six double-bedded cottages situated right on the lakeshore. Each room has been built in the Luo tribal style, with banana thatch and natural clay. There is a ‘horizon’ swimming pool located right on the lakeshore. The meals at Mfangano Island Camp include fresh salads and daily catch of Nile Perch with freshly made crusty bread and chilled wine. Birds sing all day on Mfangano Island. Activities include bird-watching, fishing for Nile Perch and Tilapia, cultural walks, relaxing, watersport, visit to local school and village, visit the caves containing pre-historic rock art, spa, swimming pool and trail-walking.
