Maasai Mara


Naibor Camp
Naibor nestles in a groce of riverrine forest on the banks of the Talek River, within the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The camp consists of sweeping pale-white tents, king-size beds, comfortable sofas and airy verandahs. Due to its location in the heart of the reserve, on the wildebeest migration route, guests experience amazing game viewing from the Camp and during game drives, in specially adapted open safari vehicles, throughout the year. The Camp is within twenty minutes of all the major Mara River migration crossings. Escorted game viewing on foot and on mountain bikes is also offerred outside the reserve. Regular sighting of lion, leopard, rhino, bufallo, cheetah, hyena and elephant, in addition to many different types of herbivores such as zebra, gazelle, eland, wildebeest and giraffee are made. Brilife in the area is prolific and varied, with a large number of aquatic species being found in the camp, along the river banks. Sundowners, bush meals, cultural village visits and optional hot air balloon safaris and optional fishing excursions in nearby Lake Victoria are offerred. Naibor Camp - Each of the 7 guest tents is a private unit, complete with shady verandah, private bar, his & her wash basins, en suite bathroom with flush toilet and safari hot-water shower. The tents nestle amongst a riverine forest and are spaced so that each has a unique view of the surrounding bush and wildlife. Little Naibor is made up of 2 spacious suites, each with 2 tents (ideal for total 4 to 8 persons), which are uniquely designed to blend with the surrounding riverine forest. Both en suite, interjoined by a communal lounge and living area, they offer stunning views and have complete privacy. Little Naibor is booked and used on exclusive private basis or, if required, in conjunction with the separated main Naibor Camp that is within the immediate vicinity.
 
Governors’ Il Moran Camp
Governors’ Il Moran Camp is small and intimate camp situated along the banks of the Mara River, right in the heart of the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with the best game viewing right on your doorstep. Hidden under ancient trees, deep in the forest, are just 10 tents lining the winding banks of the River. The tents are luxurious, featuring super ‘king size’ beds fashioned from ancient fallen olive trees, and Victorian style baths. During the day, meals are served on the banks of the Mara River under the giant evergreen trees. Dinner is served by candlelight in the open dining tent or alfresco by the river. Activities include game viewing in custom-built 4WD vehicles, seasonal walking safaris, cultural visits, support of local schools, specialist guiding on ornithology and photography, bush meals & sundowners, optional dawn hot air balloon rides and trips to nearby Lake Victoria for fishing safaris.
 
Mara Explorer Camp
Mara Explorer Camp is situated on a thickly forested river in the heart of the Maasai Mara reserve, offers guests the ultimate wilderness retreat, where you can watch elephants or giraffes drinking from the privacy of your verandah – or from your own outdoor Victorian bathtub. 10 tents are decorated in distinctive 'Explorer' style, with luxurious bathrooms, outdoor claws-foot bathtubs and personal tent attendants & radios for tent service. The Camp enjoys prime views of the spectacular wildebeest migration between June and September, and some of the world’s most rewarding Big Cat sightings during the remainder of the year. Activities include game drives with expert local guides, walking safaris in the Mara Conservation Area, riverside bush breakfasts, sundowners and dinners, visits to local villages supported by the camp, lectures and shows on Maasai culture and wildlife as well as optional dawn hot air balloon rides and trips to nearby Lake Victoria for fishing safaris.
 
Cottar's 1920's Camp
Located in the south-east of Maasai Mara bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, the camp is within a 22,000 acre exclusive concession. The camp accommodates up to 16 guests in authentic, spacious canvas tents. The camp has six 1920s style en suite tents, and 4 family tents - each with 2 en suite bedrooms and a shared sitting room, a canopied verandah and carefully arranged to ensure privacy. Each tent is luxuriously furnished with safari antiques from the 1920’s, private ensuite dressing rooms/bathrooms, showers and flush toilets. Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp
Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp is located in a private concession on the western side of Maasai Mara National Reserve – one of the 7th Wonder of the New World. Surrounded by verdant forests at the foot of a hill and offering panoramic views of the Mara plains, the camp's nine luxury tents, all en suite, are furnished with fine antiques, and stylish rugs over polished wooden floors. Tucked in the edge of a beautiful forest, elephant and plains game are regular visitors to the camp’s perimeter and bird life abounds. Accommodation is in 6 luxurious and spacious en suite tents. At the end of a rewarding day guests can indulge, surrounded by flickering candles and the sounds of the bush, in an open air Victorian bath situated in the forest where the canopy of trees opens to reveal the breath-taking African night sky. Activities include day and night game drives, escorted bush walks, bird watching, bush meals and sundowners, cultural visits and special activities for children for learning bush skills.
